Re: Curt Bentzin "Primarflex" Demontage, Wartung und Reparatur.
Ok, it was the whole front. I was too quick to post, I thought it would be difficult but it wasn't. I can now see inside all the beautiful wooden parts

Re: Curt Bentzin "Primarflex" Demontage, Wartung und Reparatur.
I looked at the picture where you said would show the screw holes. The picture is kind of blurry, so I removed the ones that were at least clear to me:
How many more screws? Can you mark on a picture or something. I think I see two more, but I am not sure if those are both necessary. I have so far removed the top front and bottom front corner, the one in the middle of the mechanism and the shutter button itself.
Re: Curt Bentzin "Primarflex" Demontage, Wartung und Reparatur.
Two screws removed from the other side. I soaked some isopropanol and the old glue gave way. It smells very good, like menthol. Probably very toxic
The mechanism does not have any wiggle, it doesn't feel even close to coming out of the camera. I will try to poke around, but probably not going to continue removing random screws before I get the expert opinion from you.
Re: Curt Bentzin "Primarflex" Demontage, Wartung und Reparatur.
Found four screws holding the mechanism to the rear section. Two from the mechanism side, two from the film compartment side.
So 8 total now, still no movement. I have tried to look for a screw behind the slow speeds escapement, but I cannot find where it could be. I found the one in the corner under the flash connector, maybe it is just that one I already removed.
The mechanism as a whole does not have any play in any corner, like I am not even close to getting it out. Is there some big part I am overlooking?
Re: Curt Bentzin "Primarflex" Demontage, Wartung und Reparatur.
Hahaha, I don't know what happened, but the shutter curtain has become loose again. I have been spinning the camera around and wiggling everything like a madman, and I noticed that the shutter curtain had rolled itself into the lower roller partially. Now the shutter fires again. The timing is completely off like one would suspect, I have to find placements for the upper and lower timing wheels now. But it lives!
Roland, you have been an amazing help - thank you very much for all the help you have given to me. Complete life saver
Now I have to figure out how to time the wheels – and put all the screws back. So it's better to put the shutter speed wheels back when the shutter is tripped?
Re: Curt Bentzin "Primarflex" Demontage, Wartung und Reparatur.
But if C2 is tensioned, shouldn't C1 be tensioned as well? Or how do you mean.
I was looking at the scratches on my timing wheels, and the wheels don't seem to go together in a way that the scratches line up. Or is this exactly what you are saying about tensioning the C2 only? The shutter speed timing part is a big mystery to me. I understand the slow speed escapement, but the general workings is unknown to me. I didn't see the camera working long enough to understand it while it was together.
